US 40 Slide Repair – Guernsey County
Trucco was awarded a $1.5 million contract by ODOT to repair a slide along along US 40 in Guernsey County. The project consisted of excavating appx 25,000 cy of rock from the face of the slopes, drilling more than 1,000 10’ long steel bolts into the rock face and grouting them into place, installing a wire mesh and erosion matting on the re-shaped slope face for quick stabilization and widening the road. Underdrains were cut into the rock and an overlay of the existing road completed the project. The road was back open within the demanding 60 day closure time frame.
